Dadu: At least 8 more people have died due to gastroenteritis and other diseases in the flood-hit Dadu district of Sindh.
Deaths were reported from Johi, Meher, Khairpur Nathan Shah and other flood-affected areas of Dadu district.
According to the PDMA, a total of 707 people have died due to floods and heavy rains in the state since June 21, 2022. PDMA said that a total of 278 men, 132 women and 297 children have died in this disaster, while 8422 people have been injured.
In addition, skin infections, diarrhea and malaria are rampant in parts of flood-hit areas of Sindh, officials said on Wednesday, adding that the situation could spiral out of control if necessary aid does not arrive.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government today constituted the Sindh Flood Relief Fund Committee with an aim to ensure transparency in relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Sohail Rajput will be the chairman of the flood relief fund committee.
In a statement, the Chief Secretary said that “Sindh Flood Relief FundThe audit will be done by an internationally-reputed audit firm.
