ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to take legal action against former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and his associates for leveling charges against the armed forces, ARY News reported on Saturday. .

According to the details, the federal government has decided to take legal action against Imran Khan in light of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, a day after the former prime minister leveled allegations against the armed forces.

This decision was taken at an important meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore today.

It was decided in the meeting that in the light of the statement of ISPR, legal action would be taken against the statements of Imran Khan and his associates against the state and institutions. A committee of constitutional and legal experts was constituted to suggest legal action.

Meanwhile, different legal action will be taken against those involved in burning and damaging the Governor House Punjab and other government properties in different cities.

Legal action will also be taken against the leaders and activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for attacking private properties.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced to write a letter to the Supreme Court to set up a full-court bench to probe the allegations leveled by PTI chief Imran Khan and the Arshad Sharif murder case.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the prime minister wished a speedy recovery to Khan and others injured in the attack and prayed for the victims killed in the attack.

Urging the PTI chief to produce evidence to support his allegations, he said, “The attack is condemnable, however, when the country is being pushed to the devastation by false narratives, it is my responsibility to protect the people.” Let’s play a positive role for defence.”

Imran Khan’s allegations

Imran Khan made controversial remarks against the military institution during an address after an attempt on his life during PTI’s long march against the government.

Imran Khan and other PTI leaders were injured in a barrage of bullets during the party’s long march near Wazirabad on November 3. The PTI chief was admitted to Lahore’s Shaukat Khanum Hospital for treatment.

The PTI chief addressed his supporters from the hospital on Friday. He claimed that the attack on him was planned by Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and an army personnel. He also demanded the resignation of three government officials.
