Huge GTA 6 leak includes heist gameplay footage, Vice City locationsSEXI News

Shares of Take-Two Interactive Software fell nearly 6% in premarket trading on Monday after a report that a hacker leaked early footage of Grand Theft Auto VI, the next installment of the best-selling videogame.

The unprecedented leak included dozens of videos showing robbery, gunplay and open-world driving and was posted on an online message board. Bloomberg News said sources familiar with the game’s development had confirmed the videos were genuine.

“It’s a PR disaster, potentially setting production back and hurting morale,” Jefferies wrote in a client note, warning a possible leak of the game’s source code could pose a major threat.

“If the source code is leaked, it may require significant changes under the hood of the game to ensure its stability, and server integrity after GTA VI Online launches.”

The hacker, who last week claimed to be the person behind a cyber incident at Uber Technologies Inc. (UBER.N), posted a message on the forum seeking to “negotiate a deal” with Take-Two. was. read more

Take-Two and Rockstar, the company behind the game, did not respond to requests for comment.

An administrator for the message board, GTAForums, said that Take-Two had asked for copyrighted material to be removed.

“Do not share links to media or leaked copyrighted material. Discussion is permitted,” read a banner on GTAForums’ home page.

Gamers and investors have been waiting for the release of GTA VI for years, the development of which was confirmed in February, causing Take-Two shares to jump more than 7%.

“Based on what we see, the game is ahead of what many believe and the (leaked) game will not impact reception/sales,” said analysts at Jefferies.

According to BofA Global Research, GTA VI is estimated to generate $3.5 billion at launch and an average annual booking of $2 billion thereafter.
