Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Friday wondered whether there would be any change in the “negative attitude” of the BJP and its governments towards Muslims after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visited a mosque and madrassa in Delhi. Extending his reach to the Muslim community, the RSS chief had on Thursday visited a mosque and a madrasa in Delhi and held discussions with All India Imam Sangathan chief Umar Ahmed Ilyasi, who called him the ‘Father of the Nation’.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) sarsanghchalak visited a mosque at Kasturba Gandhi Marg in central Delhi and then visited Madrasa Tajveedul Quran in North Delhi’s Azadpur. Reacting to the visit, the BSP supremo said in a tweet in Hindi, “RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visited Masjid/Madrasa in Delhi yesterday and met Ulemas and then called himself ‘Father of the Nation’ and ‘Sage of the Nation’. Said.’, Will there be a change in the negative attitude and behavior of BJP and its governments towards Muslim society and their Masjid-Madrasas? and is intent on interfering (functioning) in private madrasas while ignoring government madrasas. But it also needs to be considered as to what is being interpreted as the deep silence of the RSS chief on the issue An RSS functionary who accompanied Bhagwat on Thursday said that he had gone to the madrasa for the first time.
During his visit to the madrasa, Bhagwat interacted with the children and heard them reciting the Quran. The officials said that the children raised slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Jai Hind’. Ilyasi, the head of the All India Imam Sangathan, used the word ‘Father of the Nation’ for Bhagwat while talking to the children in the madrassa. However, Bhagwat intervened to say that the nation has only one father and that everyone is a ‘Bharat ki santan’ (child of the nation), according to an RSS official.
