No end to tiger attacks in Wayanad? Another animal on the hunt in Meenangdi

Wayanad: There is an atmosphere of panic after the news of tiger hiding in Meenangadi area in Wayanad district of Kerala came to light.

The series of attacks on domestic animals had started here. In the last month 30 goats were killed. Of these, seven died on Saturday night alone.

The incident comes just days after a tiger wreaking havoc in neighboring Chiral village was caught after 26 days of hunting.

Forest guards have visited the area, but it seems that no words of assurance can comfort the people here.

They are gearing up for a protest seen in Chiral, which prompted prompt action from the authorities.

Chiral and Meenangdi are the villages situated on the edge of the forest. Infiltration of wildlife into human habitats is a regular occurrence here. But back-to-back tiger attacks are unprecedented. Many believe that this is a result of the recent explosion in the tiger population in Wayanad.
