ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (Prime Minister) Shahbaz Sharif has urged the world to support Pakistan in mitigating the damage caused by the floods.

The Prime Minister was presiding over an online meeting of concerned officials to review the pace of various flood relief and rehabilitation activities in flood-affected areas across Pakistan.

Expressing his views, the Prime Minister conveyed that, he had fruitful meetings with the Chairman and Managing Director of the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and had extensive discussions on the flood situation in Pakistan.

PM Shahbaz Sharif said that he expressed grief over the loss and assured all possible help and support to Pakistan.

The prime minister said he had cautioned that lakhs of vulnerable children are deprived of essential food items and may fall ill with diseases such as diarrhoea.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that due to the widespread devastation caused by the floods, people in Pakistan cannot face the challenge alone with their limited resources, and called on the world community, international organizations such as the World Bank and the IMF and other friendly countries to support them. and requested to provide. Much needed relief to the flood victims.

The Prime Minister reviewed the distribution of food items, tents and medicines in the affected areas.

He ordered the concerned authorities to utilize all available resources to distribute essential food items, especially baby food, on an emergency basis in the affected areas.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also took stock of the restoration of roads, rail, bridges and other infrastructure damaged in the devastating floods, and ordered the relevant federal and provincial departments to accelerate their efforts so that they can be operationalized as soon as possible.
