Rajasthan Congress divided amid discussion on Pilot’s height; Gehlot camp set foot on the post of CMSEXI News

Rifts are beginning to appear in the Rajasthan Congress amid speculation that the state is on guard after Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot became the first to announce his candidature for the AICC presidential election.

As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wants the commitment of “one person, one post”, which was adopted as part of the Udaipur Declaration, needs to be honored, several ministers in the Rajasthan government and party legislators have called for Gehlot. Meanwhile, the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party will be held at Gehlot’s residence in Jaipur on September 25 at 7 pm. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has appointed Mallikarjun Kharge as observer along with Ajay Maken, general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan. He will attend the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. This is the second meeting of the CLP within a week. The last meeting was held on 20 September.

“It has been a tradition in the Congress from the very beginning that whenever there is a meeting of the legislature party for elections or to choose the face of the CM, we pass a one-line resolution to empower the Congress President. This will happen even today,” CM Gehlot said ahead of the CLP meeting.

“As far as the post of Congress President is concerned, I have been in politics for 50 years and have been in various positions for 40 years, what more can a person expect from this, now the new generation should get a chance so that we together to provide leadership. country,” he said.

Advisor to the Chief Minister and Independent MLA Sanyam Lodha said that everyone wants Gehlot to continue as the Chief Minister and warned that the government may fall if he is replaced.

Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena said, ‘The name of the Chief Minister is decided by the party high command. Whatever decision Sonia Gandhi takes, everyone will accept it. I was with Gehlot ji from the very beginning in politics, I am a minister for the third time. The high command has always made (Ashok) Gehlot ji and I am with whomever the high command makes CM.”

Chief Minister’s advisor and senior MLA Babulal Nagar said that it is necessary that the 2023 assembly elections should be held under the leadership of Gehlot.

It may be noted that Pilot along with 18 party MLAs had rebelled against Gehlot’s leadership in July 2020. Later, he was sacked as the deputy chief minister as well as the state PCC chief. Pilot met Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi on Friday amid speculations of change of power in the state.

Minister of State for Rural Development Rajendra Singh Gudha has asked for Pilot to be made the chief minister and called him the “best face”. “There is no better face in Congress than Sachin Pilot. Whatever decision the high command takes, it will be final but when in my opinion there is no better leader than Pilot after Gehlot in Rajasthan.

Apart from Pilot, the names of President CP Joshi and Govind Singh Dotasara are also running in the Congress as to who will be the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
